Chocolate doesn’t work

After intensive clinical trials, I can reveal that chocolate does not have any rapid impact on the learning process for getting used to blended vision.

A quick recap.  It’s now 4 days since my surgery.  My eyes feel fine almost all the time and the worst I get is a bit of a tired feeling which soon goes away once the artificial tear drops are in.  My close up vision is fine in my right eye and my distance sight is excellent in my left, but the blended vision still feels extremely strange.  My brain really isn’t filtering out the poorer image at all at any of the vision ranges.

I had a long day on the PC yesterday.  I did all the right things with screen breaks every 15 mins and regular looks to the far horizon, but by the evening I was experiencing the worst blurring with my blended vision yet.  My perception was that both eyes had been working all day at focusing up close and anything else seemed a real strain.

I noticed some improvement this morning and the mid range vision in my right eye seems sharper than it has been, perhaps part of the healing and settling process post-surgery.  I’ve no intention of spending much time on the PC today so this will be a relatively short entry.  I’m going to catch the new Star Trek film tonight and really looking forward to the whole cinema experience with no contacts or glasses.

In summary, I think that so far the process has all worked perfectly and has given me the prescription I’m supposed to have with little discomfort or pain and now it’s all about how I adjust to the blended vision.  All laser Lasik has given me 20/20 vision or better in my left eye and means I can read small print with my right, all with little fuss.  If anyone is considering straightforward short sight correction I would recommend my experience at London Vision Clinic.  But the jury is still out on the blended vision.

Tomorrow, and update on the vision and a mini review of Star Trek.

Yes, i too have recently had lasik surgery and to be able to read, write and watch without the need for contact lenses is indeed a massive relief and injection of freedom. Nice blog, keep up the good posting!
